Feisty Ten with ward winning musician,Amani
You have managed to stay amazingly hot and relevant in a fickle industry. How do you do that?
I just trust God and do my best. I also do a lot of research.
You have an enviable figure. The secret is …
I watch what I eat and work out a lot. But I mainly watch what I eat. I love food though, so I focus on nutrition and do everything in moderation. For example, instead of eating bread, I eat sweet potatoes for breakfast.
You have transformed from a tomboy to an elegant Miss feminine. Tell us about the transformation?
I was very insecure when I was young that is why I dressed like a tomboy. I was not confident in who I was. But over time, I have learnt to embrace me and that is how my confidence grew.
What inspired your transformation?
An ex-boyfriend and a friend. Every time I wore a dress and had my hair down (then it was 16 inches long) I got a lot of compliments from him, so I started embracing more feminine looks. Liz Mumbi, a friend who is also a style guru, encouraged me to always wear dresses.
If you could change something about your physical appearance, what would that be?
My tummy, it just does not get completely flat no matter what I do (laughs).
What one thing don’t people know about you?
I sucked my thumb until I was 13.
Apart from music, what other projects are you involved in?
So many. I am also a motivational speaker. I visit high schools and youth centres to mentor the youth. In August, I will be at Ngandu Girls High School.
