NIGERIAN ARTISTES PUT AFRICAN MUSIC ON THE MAP

Nigerian artistes are beginning to recognize their roots and do away with Western cultures and singing patterns. The good thing also is that the listeners now appreciate African/Nigerian songs as they are presented. The era of Western hip hop is gradually fading away as the Nigerian artistes now have a replica which is Afro Hip Hop and the world is loving it. Artiste like Flavour carved a niche for himself in the industry with his highlife/hiplife pattern and have had many enjoying his tunes. Acts like Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide just to mention a few, with their afro hip hop pattern have won the hearts of millions of music lovers all over the world. Davido's new song, Skelewu, which is causing lots of frenzy all around, comes in a pure African pattern and sounds somewhat succus or better still, makossa. Who says African artistes can't also sell their pattern to the world. A song like 'Khona' by Mafizikolo which is 100 percent African and its enjoying massive airplays the world over should win the Grammies. Africa music is truly alive

Nollywood Movie Director’s Wife Beats Up Actress For Sleeping With Her Hubby In Asaba

There is no doubt that Asaba, the Delta State capital has become a home for movie productions in Nigeria. It still baffles many why producers have decided to pitch their tent in Asaba. Investigations by Gists from Edo/Delta have revealed that production is cheaper in Asaba and that is why producers are thronging there to make their movies, but the height of immoralities being practised in Asaba is really giving the people there cause. The latest is that a top Nollywood Director’s wife fought an A-List actress on a movie set in the capital town for sharing her hubby with her. The director is Lagos based but was contracted to do the movie in Asaba. He is a top shot in Nollywood and hails from one of the South-Eastern states. Gists from Edo/Delta learnt that this notable film director, was having a fling with the actress who was playing the lead role in the movie. This actress is fair complexioned also from South East. Sources said the duo were staying in the same hotel in the heart of Asaba. It was gathered that the director had been dating the actress for a while now and his wife was suspicious of it. It was learnt that one of the crew members, who is a close friend of the director’s wife leaked the romance between the actress and the director to the director’s wife. Luck ran out on the actress as she was caught red handed on the bed of the director by his wife. The director’s wife was said to have dragged the actress out of the room after beating her to a pulp and tore her clothes with her upper region jumping out.

Osita Iheme (PawPaw)’s Displays Good Citizenship

Pawpaw as the Nollywood actor and one of the prime movers of African Interest Initiative Movement ( AIIM), Osita Iheme,MFR is called has joined forces with the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, as he calls on Nigerians to be vigilant and protect power installations. The diminutive actor, Pawpaw made this call against the backdrop of the alarming rate at which power cables and installations are being vandalised on daily basis by citizens of this great nation. A son of the soil and a national Honour carrier, he implored all and sundry to “be on guard and help protect our common interest”, lamenting that vandals and thieves are slowing down the wheels of progress in the power sector. “A situation where power cables and installations are easy prey to vandals is totally unacceptable”. In his campaign for Goodluck Jonathan, Iheme praised the doggedness of the President Goodluck Jonathan led administration in finding a lasting solution to the power sector. Hear him, “the sincerity of the GEJ led government in tackling the power sector is commendable. It is not yet Uhuru but we sincerely believe we will get there. That is why the African Interest Initiative Move (AIIM) is calling on Nigerians to reciprocate by watching over and protecting whatever the government installs to boost generation cum distribution of light in Nigeria. This is really a welcome initiative; we hope others will emulate him.

'Focus On Your Music'--Fans Tells Muna Abii 'You & Your Ancestors Are Broke'--Muna Replies

In recent times, Nigerian celebrities have had to engaged some of their fans in a dirty exchange of unpleasant words on a social networking platform, Twitter. Davido, Wizkid are few of those who have fallen victims of such. One cannot forget so soon how Wizkid called a fan broke just because he was corrected of a grammatical error and told of the need to return to school after he reportedly dropped out. Now, it is Munachi Abii, who was formerly a beauty queen and now a rapper. Since she joined the music industry, she has not risen to the top. Some have even forgotten that she raps because she has not made much impact to get the needed recognition. Few days ago, she decided to go raw with a fan on twitter and went as far as cursing the fan's ancestors, who she described as 'broke'. Muna had tweeted that she fell off her seat when Teyana Taylor called Rihanna an industry pus*y. A fan then replied her that she (Muna) wasn't as rich as the artiste she was making jest of. The ex-beauty queen found offence in that and responded "when mansions are talking, face me I face you too wants to talk.". This got a prompt response from the same fan who told the rapper that Muna's ”house was closer to a face me I face you than his (the fan)." Another fan on twitter then advised Muna to devote much of her time to her music rather than tweeting, maybe she would then move to the next level by doing good songs. . An angry Muna then replied that the fan and his generation were broke. She was criticised for her comment by some furious fans on twitter. Many have continued to wonder why Nigerian celebs are quick to called their fans broke at the slightest provocation. Does having a camera advantage make them richer than others? Some have advised public figures to get those to train them on the maintenance of stardom
